The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has confirmed that the backroom team under head coach Heimir Hallgrímsson will remain in place, with assistants John O'Shea, Paddy McCarthy, and Gudmundur Hreidarsson all agreeing to contract extensions.
According to RTE.ie, the trio will stay on the Ireland coaching ticket through the Euro 2028 tournament. The Irish Independent reports that the deals run until the conclusion of that competition, while the BBC notes that all three coaches have extended their agreements.
The FAI's announcement puts an end to any speculation about the futures of O'Shea and McCarthy, both former Ireland internationals who have been part of the national setup in recent years. Hreidarsson, an Icelandic coach, completes the extended group.
